Two EPs in one from Rodrigo y Gabriela, the Mettal EP and the Jazz EP were issued separately on vinyl and are brought together on this CD making it a longer and varied listen. The "varied" bit is a function of the wildly different sources of the tunes. Metallica and Astor Piazzola on the same CD?! Kamasi Washington AND Megadeth?! This is something few artists besides RyG could pull off. And pull it off they do! Their takes on these tunes bring out the best of the compositions while showcasing their amazing talents. For my money, their version of Slayer's "Seasons in the Abyss" is one of their greatest moments ever as well as showing how great of a song it is in a way that brings out the best of the original version. This CD is highly eclectic and highly recommended.
