Altin Gün was inspired by founder Jasper Verhulst’s deep passion for Turkish folk and psychedelia. The band’s second album Gece (2019) led to a Grammy nomination and firmly established them as masterful interpreters of the Anatolian rock and folk legacy, and as a leading voice in the emergent global psych scene. It’s electric Turkish history with a heady buzz of 21st century intensity, filled with funk-like grooves and explosive psychedelic textures.
