On the heels of his acclaimed Boleros Psicodélicos LP, Adrian Quesada announces the release of Jaguar Sound. Out November 18th on ATO Records, the twelve-track collection marks the second new album of the year from the Grammy-winning guitarist, producer and Black Pumas co-founder, further showcasing his singular and signature ability to build a bridge between seemingly disparate worlds of music. Steeped in a heady fusion of hip-hop, psychedelic soul and the opulent orchestration of Italian film scores from the 1970s, the LP draws upon inspirations like The Alchemist, Ennio Morricone and Nico Fidenco, as well as his own experience growing up on the border of multiple countries, cultures and languages.
Featuring a special appearance from Ikebe Shakedown, as well as harp by Mary Lattimore, Neal Francis on piano, keys from David Garza and an array of strings, horns and percussion, Jaguar Sound was produced, written, engineered, mixed and largely performed by Adrian Quesada at his own Electric Deluxe studio in Austin, TX.

This album SLAPS!!January 10, 2024My oh my. It's groovy, it's smooth, it's banging, it's peaceful. Beautiful arrangements. Bumpin' beats. Soulful rhythms. Genuis guitar. I play this album everyday. It puts me in a good mood. Clearly one of the best musicians Austin has to offer.

PRESTON FRAZIERJanuary 6, 2023ADRIAN QUESADA – JAGUAR SOUND (FUNK ROCK): Adrian Quesada, the guitarist and producer of the Black Pumas, is a master and creates slinky, funky songs. Jaguar Sound was an excellent combination of Latin soul and funk. The album’s 12 instrumental tracks were cinematic and exciting. “Noble Metals,” with its tremolo guitar and Vox organ, verged on the outer worldly. “Spirits” was driven by Stax-like baritone sax and strutting rhythm guitars, becoming another slow burner that invoked a night at a cigar club with a good whiskey. Hey, it’s an instrumental album, so it may feel different to a different listener. All I know is that it was good fun, and expertly executed.

Jaguar Sound is completely instrumental which had me reminiscent of Ocote Soul Sounds (El Nino y El Sol & The Alchemist Manifesto in particular). Recorded in Austin, TX at Electric Deluxe Recorders by Adrian himself, this is another testimony of his immense talent and vision as an artist. ????????

Daniel GolubDecember 13, 2022I was astounded by how different, yet familar, this record was. I actually enjoy it so much that I have to stop myself from playing it so often as I don't want to get tired of it. This record has made me an Adrien Quesada fan for life! And to add to it all, there are three tracks with the great Neal Francis, so this album is a no brainer with how amazing it is. If someone could capture an insatiable vibe and put it into an album, Adrien successful achieved that feat with this record. I need more!
