Amanda and Bobbie recorded together in 2021 at Arlyn Studios in Austin, Texas—a facility co-owned and operated by Nelson’s son, Freddy Fletcher. The album Loving You features songs that Nelson and Shires have played and treasured their entire lives—a mix of Nelson’s favorites along with Shires’ own elegant solo piano title track. The album traces Nelson’s musical story and personal journey.
Grammy and Americana Award–winning singer-songwriter and violinist Amanda Shires has pushed the reset button with Take It Like a Man, releasing a record so unlike anything she has previously recorded that it could be mistaken for her debut instead of her seventh album. Shires, who also plays in The Highwomen, worked with producer Lawrence Rothman (Angel Olsen, Kim Gordon) to create a fearless, confessional record, showing the world what turning 40 looks like in 10 emotionally raw tracks.
